Major Attractions

The town of Gilgil is located near Lake Elmenteita. Of the Rift Valley lakes, Elmenteita is located between Lake Naivasha and Lake Nakuru. The major Nairobi - Nakuru highway runs along a nearby escarpment offering wide scenery towards the lake.

Getting There

Main road access to Elmenteita is directly from Nairobi by bus/Matatu or private transport. The main highway continues to Nakuru. The nearest town is GilGil. Elmenteita is a one and a half hour drive from Nairobi. There is an airstrip in Naivasha, with charter flights available. Lodges and camps here can organize transfers from Nairobi to Naivasha.
