Kakamega Forest National Reserve

Gazetted as a national forest reserve in 1985, Kakamega Forest is virtually the only segment of mid-altitude tropical rainforest existing in the country. It is blessed with richly diverse flora & fauna and acts as an important water catchment area with the Yala & Isiukhu Rivers flowing through it.

By Road
Use the Bunyangu gate about two thirds of a km off the Kakamega- Eldoret Highway, 15 km from Kakamega town or alight at the Kambiri junction when using public transport
