Ruma National Park

Ruma National Park is home to the Roan Antelope, a rare species of Antelope whose protection was the reason for the park’s establishment in 1966 and subsequent upgrade to National Park status in 1983. The park lies on the flat floor of Lambwe Valley and is bordered by Kanyamaa Escarpment to the SE.

By Road
Via Migori from Kisii- use the gravel road from Migori town for a distance of about 8 km
Via Homa Bay from Kisumu- use the gravel road from Homa Bay, for a distance of 24 km

Park Roads
Consist of three main circuits with two gates serving the entire park: Nyatoto Gate & the Main Gate

Located
In Lambwe Valley, South Nyanza District, 140 km from Kisumu and 10 km east of Lake Victoria

Weather Conditions
Are hot and humid with annual rainfall ranging from 1200-1600 mm
